Introduction

BIODELEAR is an ambitious project which foresees the development of an integrated pest management strategy (IPMS) for the sustainable management for the control of Med fly (Ceratitis capitata) in the absence of insecticides using the mass trapping technique with a novel attractant which is no toxic to the people and to the environment, for the application in intensively cultivated Mediterranean areas.

Life-Biodelear in the Ypaithros xwra

The work of the Life-Biodelear project was presented on August 3rd 2018 in the weekly Rural Development Gazette, Ypaithros xwra. Earlier, on July 25th 2018, Life-Biodelear had been presented in the newspaper's website, ypaithros.gr.

Two citrus farmers who participate in the Life-Biodelear program shared their experience. They pointed to the reduction in the rate of infestation of the Mediterranean flies in their crops after the use of the attractive Biodelear.
Benefits of using the attractive Biodelear were reported by the coordinator of project Dr. Vassilis Mavraganis.
